New Fitness Client - Assessment
What is it?
All first-time fitness clients at Fusion begin with this session. It’s your starting point for building a safe, personalized fitness journey and gives your trainer the opportunity to learn about you, your body, your goals, and what you want to accomplish.
We’ll take time to discuss your health and fitness history, lifestyle, current activity level, and goals before getting you moving. Your trainer will guide you through an initial posture and movement assessment to get a better understanding of how your body moves and identify areas that may need attention.
From there, we’ll use what we learn to begin building a fitness plan that fits your needs, abilities, and goals. We’ll also discuss what type of training and schedule may work best for you moving forward.
Whether you’re brand new to exercise, getting back into fitness, or adding fitness to your existing Fusion wellness routine, this session gives us the information we need to help you get started on the right foot.
Please come dressed to move.
If you’ve had surgery, an injury, or a significant medical condition within the past 6 months, a healthcare provider release may be required before proceeding.

General Assessment
The general assessment is a focused look at your movement, strength, mobility, and overall fitness to help identify where you are now and where you want to go. We’ll use what we learn to create a plan that fits your body, goals, and lifestyle.

Unexplained severe or worsening pain
A recent surgery or procedure without clearance to exercise
An active illness, infection, or fever

If you’re unsure whether exercise is appropriate for you, please talk with your healthcare provider before booking. A healthcare provider release may be required before your first fitness session when additional medical clearance is appropriate.
Our goal is to help you exercise safely—not to work around a medical restriction without the appropriate guidance.
Pregnancy & Prenatal Fitness
At this time, Fusion does not offer prenatal fitness or pregnancy-specific training. If you become pregnant while working with us, please let your trainer know so we can discuss your options and determine the safest next step for your fitness routine.

What to Expect
We’ll start with a detailed intake where you’ll discuss your health and medical history, lifestyle, current activity level, and fitness goals with your trainer.
From there, you’ll get moving. Your trainer will guide you through a basic posture analysis and movement assessment to see how your body moves, identify areas of concern, and establish a starting point for your fitness journey.
This session is about getting to know you and your body—not pushing you through a hard workout. You’ll have time to ask questions, discuss your goals, and talk through what you’d like your future fitness sessions to look like.
Please come dressed to move and ready to participate in some light movement and assessment.
